Question: what is the difference from a maternity swimsuit and a regular sized ? If I buy one is that a waist of money?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Maternity suits will fit your belly --- but will be appropriately sized other places (bum, chest etc). Larger sizes may fit your belly --- but will be much larger in other places that don't *tend* to grow much with pregnancy.

Answer #2:

YEAH! Its a big waste of money. U dont need to buy maternity clothing. When i was pregnant with my first i could wear regular clothing but i just went up a size or two. M aternity clothing are over priced and i find them really ugly looking. LOL

Answer #3:

A maternity swim suit: The front of swimsuit has more material for your growing belly to fit in comfortably and not have something stretched over your belly, I find tight things really uncomfortable. Being comfortable in pregnancy is one of the most important things so i guess that's why maternity wear is made and also maternity tops.. Are longer at the front if you hold them up but once they are on and over the bump the top is the same lenth both sides, front and back.
Good luck

Answer #4:

Question #1:
When buying any kind of maternity clothes you are supposed to get your normal, non-pregnant size. Maternity bottoms have a stretchy panel or waist that will accommodate your growing belly. Buying regular clothes a size or two larger can work but, you may find that it even though it fits just right on your belly, it may be loose everywhere else.

Question #2:
If you're planning on spending a lot of time swimming this summer, I don't think buying a maternity swimsuit is a waste of money--as long as your belly is big enough (maybe from about 5 or 6 months & remember you WILL continue to grow). Plus, swimming feels FANTASTIC with a pregnant belly. Your back will thank you!!!

Try shopping at Motherhood Maternity. This store is known for inexpensive & fashionable maternity clothes. During my last pregnancy, I found a tankini on sale for about $15. On some days I even would wear the tankini top as a regular shirt. Their usual swimsuit prices range from under $30 to under $40.
