Question: Should I buy a maternity swimsuit or just a tankini?

Answer #1:

A tankini.

Answer #2:

I think you should get whatever you feel most comfortable! Go shopping, and pick something you like!

Answer #3:

WELL I WOULD SAY WHATEVER YOU FEEL GOOD ON .

Answer #4:

It really depends on your size and how your belly grows, and at this point it's hard to tell how big you're going to be.
You might be surprised. I was due November 2008 with my daughter, and over the summer I was pretty big. I couldn't have gotten away with a tankini. I either wore a bikini and let my whole big belly hang out, or I wore my maternity bathing suit.
This year, I'm due October 28th and I will wear my maternity bathing suit. I just felt more comfortable in it since it's designed to fit around pregnant bellies. But like I said, it's up to you. If you only have a small bump then a tankini should be fine, but if you find that you're like me and have a pretty big belly by 20-22 weeks, then you might want to look into getting a maternity bathing suit.

Congrats~

Answer #5:

you'll probably need a maternity by at least middle of second trimester. i'm 5 1/2 months and am really starting to show now and this is my first.

They make maternity tankinis, that's what i'm going to go for, just because i can;t imagine trying to get in and out of a one peice swim dress or soemthing like that with a big belly, especially if im in the bathroom and need to pee i won;t want to be struggling to get the one peice down lol

Answer #6:

You will be amazed by how quickly a second trimester baby bump grows! I was pregnant with twins during the summer in my second trimester so my bump was bigger than a singleton mommy's, but even when I was only 5 months pregnant a regular tankini would have left part of the bottom of my tummy showing. At 5 months pregnant I looked 6-7 months pregnant, so take that into consideration. I'd recommend trying on a maternity tankini and a regular tankini and seeing what you think. If you go to a maternity store, they'll have a pregnancy pillow to strap on your front so you can see how big you'll be in 3-4 months and try it on underneath a tankini or two. Good luck, and congratulations!
